Digitization and networking have long since arrived in agriculture and agricultural engineering. There is no getting around the topic package that is called Farming 4.0 in the agricultural sector, because only ever more intelligent machines, processes and procedures can solve the current and future challenges in agriculture and agricultural engineering. This article describes the current situation, points out challenges and suggests solutions.
